Hi, I’m Katy and I’m the face behind What Katy Baked. I live in Clitheroe with my husband and three
children. I started What Katy Baked back in 2017 as a part time adventure alongside my career in
telecoms.
I have always loved baking and started to really enjoy the creativity of designing and making celebration
cakes, so when I went back to work after my third child and I was put at risk of redundancy, I saw it as an
opportunity to do what I love on a full-time basis. I took the money and ran to the kitchen!
What Katy Baked was established and built in Manchester, where I lived for 22 years, until my husband
and I decided to move back to my hometown of Clitheroe in 2023, where my journey continues.
I’m now a well established designer and creator of celebration cakes, wedding cakes, iced biscuits, treat
boxes and seasonal gifts, and I couldn’t be happier!
What Katy Baked is a solo venture; I’m the designer, creator, administrator, marketing manager, delivery
driver, accountant and pot washer, so when you get in touch, it will be me who you speak with. Talk
about the personal touch!
I love being creative and my best work is always done when I’m given free reign with the design, offer a
brief and I’ll do the rest! I’m here to make the process of designing and creating your wedding cake or
celebration cake as easy as possible, whilst delivering something you’ll love and enjoy devouring.

GETTING TO KNOW ME...
I have a degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Occupational Psychology...so nothing to do with
making cakes!
I LOVE chocolate! I’d have to say my favourites are Maltesers, Terry’s chocolate orange and After Eight! You’ll often see these flavours in my seasonal treat boxes!
Growing up, my parents had a well established village pub in the Ribble Valley. I worked there for 9 years as a teenager and into my twenties. I credit them for teaching me everything I know about
offering the best customer service!
I’m a procrastinator! Sometimes it takes me forever to make a choice as I’m so indecisive...I just want
everything to be perfect!
I got married in 2019 at the beautiful Bashall Barn, and I made my own wedding cake and dessert table!
